There's a New World Coming...

Man, I forgot what a great big old true tone Cass Elliot had. And what a great, sweet little anthem at a time when sweeter things are really appreciated.
"THERE'S A NEW WORLD COMING" — Cass Elliot
There's a new new world coming
and it's just around the bend.
There's a new world coming
this one's coming to an end.
There's a new voice calling,
you can hear it if you try.
And it's growing stronger
with each day that passes by.
There's a brand new morning
rising clear and sweet and free.
There's a new day dawning
that belongs to you and me
Yes a new world coming,
the one we've had visions of.
Coming in peace, coming in joy,
coming in love.
Yes a new world coming,
the one we've had visions of.
Coming in peace, coming in joy,
coming in love.
Coming in love.
Coming in love.
"The Mamas and the Papas" were too cool for school, largely because of Cass's larger-than-life personality and star appeal. And her talent. This lady could sing. She made them the hippest of the tippy-top hippies.
If you dig backstories, this one is pretty fun. It's Chyna Phillips speaking with her life-long friend, Owen, daughter of Cass Elliot:
"Dream a Little Dream of Me" — Cass Eliot (1970)
[Her tone and pitch are amazing.]
"One Way Ticket" — Cass Eliot (1970)
“Different” — Cass Eliot
“Leaving on a Jet Plane” — Cass Eliot
[with John Denver. It’s really pretty.]
